Trauma
Most fractures and trauma reach OSI through the emergency room. Our surgeons take overnight call at Christus Santa Rosa Hospital and Resolute Health Hospital in New Braunfels, and Dr. Twitero covers Guadalupe Regional Medical Center in Seguin. If your injury needs emergency surgery, it happens at the hospital where you were evaluated, on the same admission. If it can wait safely, the on-call surgeon will recommend a clinic visit at OSI within a few days so the right repair can be planned and scheduled. Either way, fracture management and recovery continue with our team after you leave the hospital.

Coordinated through a regional trauma center
Pelvic ring fractures, acetabular fractures, pilon fractures, and multi-system (polytrauma) injuries are best managed at a Level-1 trauma center in San Antonio. Our surgeons help coordinate transfer when these injuries present to a local ER, then resume follow-up and rehabilitation once the patient is ready to return home.
